In what was described by many as a solemn procession rather than a fashion show, the Autumn/Winter 2010 collection from the late Alexander McQueen descended on the catwalks of Paris on a chilly Tuesday. The collection, swathed in religious ideologies and virginal imagery, effortlessly beautiful with acute attention to detail, unveiled McQueen at his very best.Gold and jewels of pure extravagance and grandure featured heavily, with a few royal red and gold ensembles injecting life and colour into a somewhat morose display. I can't begin to imagine how such splendour and beauty came from such a troubled mind. View some of McQueen's final masterpieces below.
